Park City Paragliding, Our Most Frequently Asked Questions
What if I am afraid of heights?
Get over it. Worry about the interstate highway. Our safety record is perfect. We’ve flown with plenty of fear-of-heights passengers. Not one has freaked out in the air. You’re safe in your harness beneath a rock-solid paraglider and an out-of-this-world pilot.
How long will the ride last?
The tow to altitude takes about 15 minutes. The flight back down varies in length depending on conditions and on how many tricks you ask the pilot to do.
Do I get to steer?
If you like, you can steer almost the entire time. The instructor takes care of the take off and landing and you can do the rest.
What should I wear?
Good shoes, full length pants and shirt, a jacket, gloves if you have them and eyewear.
Will it be cold?
It might be cool. It just depends on the day.
What should I bring?
Consider a snack, some water, a camera and a smile.
Will I get wet?
No. The take-off and landing happen on the beach. But pilot and passenger do wear life jackets.
Is it dangerous?
All forms of aviation carry risks. Paraglider Boat Towing at a lake is significantly safer than flying off a mountain.
Who are the pilots?
These are no rookie pilots in silk scarves. Park City Paragliding pilots have years of experience. Some are ranked in the top-ten in the USA at cross-country paragliding competitions. Others include the best aerobatic paraglider pilots in the country.
Every aspect of Park City Paragliding is under the watchful eye and command of Chris Santacroce (link to Website), an award-winning instructor, often featured in magazines and television He teaches, examines and gives the licensing nod of approval for tandem pilots at America’s national organization for paragliding.
